A Yogic Path

Erin’s journey began at a young age with natural talent for coordination and curiosity for cosmic knowledge. Fortunate to have abundant opportunities singing and dancing that trained breath awareness early on, formative years also unearthed an unexpected talent as a sharp shooter - supported by strong breath awareness. Highlighting her seemingly obvious innate body/mind attunement, such early training for interoception and proprioception set Erin up for success - even though her younger self did not realize the power and healing of breath!

A performance artist, a theatre girl at heart who happened to have good aim, Erin also loved burying her nose books - and her lifelong love of reading always included a somewhat serious study of mystic arts. Following footsteps of a gifted maternally inherited intuition, esoteric studies only increased alongside learning to practice yoga. Her personal practice “to yoke” officially began in 2009, always inclusive and honoring traditional studies, meditation, pranayama and breath on each of the four paths of yoga (Jnana, Bhakti, Raja and Karma.)

A deepening practice meant transformative experiences as a student, a teacher and a healer. Challenging and uncomfortable, Erin learned true transformation required an “unbecoming” of inauthenticity. Ending bad habits and misaligned relationships can happen rather dramatically, and Erin survived (6) diagnosed TBI/concussions over a decade-plus time including nothing less than life-altering struggles such as unemployment, displacement, estrangement and abandonment. Her admitted prior rose-colored perspective and people-pleasing (she does have a Libra Stellium!) approach held her back. Erin’s visceral empathy is a gift, but she struggled to stop taking responsibility for everyone else’s feelings. She learned, through her dedicated practice and devotion to her own growth, that genuine self-compassion cultivates mature empathy. Erin leaned into advocacy with integrity, and learned vital skills to not only stand tall in her own authenticity but facilitate transformative healing for others.

Becoming a healer required stripping anything disingenuous in order to re-birth the most authentic self. Understanding surrender and co-creating our reality with our vision. Truthful, genuine embrace of experience, increased ability to offer self-compassion leading to and integrated and evolved outward expression of self.

It can seem almost miraculous to discover so much space just within to transform and to even find gratitude for trials and tribulations. Entirely prepared with a well-earned readiness for the truth…

As a decades tenured theater teaching artist working in Pittsburgh, Erin believes that the “best” teachers are mostly just very dedicated students.

Currently immersed in her 12th year teaching yoga for Point Park University’s International Dance Intensive, Erin celebrates her 13th teaching anniversary in August 2026. She first officially completed a yoga power vinyasa certification in 2013, adding on classical yoga, anatomy, hands-on assisting, energy healing, traditional studies including Sanskrit and subtle body awareness, trauma informed training, accessibility trainings including chair yoga and yoga for neurological conditions. Erin loves being able to offer a wide range of healing modalities as part of her offerings to fit each unique individual and their practice. She fully believes that teachers are merely dedicated students, and embraces educational techniques to build student interoception (internal space awareness,) proprioception (external space awareness,) healthy vagus nerve function and alignment through yoga.
